If you’re looking for something deeper than the usual Vegas strip experience this March, mark your calendar for Back in the Day—a powerful 1960s Chicago musical drama coming to the Winchester Dondero Cultural Center. Presented by Lighthouse LV & S.A.V.E., in association with Black Pages International and Bronz’D Entertainment, this stage play brings soul, storytelling, and community to the Las Vegas arts scene.
About the Story: A Family Shaken by a Turning Point
Set in South Side Chicago during a decade of shifting values and rising tensions, Back in the Day follows a close-knit Black family whose world is shaken when a teen pregnancy ignites scandal, exposes long-buried secrets, and forces everyone to confront what they truly believe. It’s a story about young love, parental sacrifice, and the pressure to protect a family’s name in a world that already judges them.
Music, Dialogue, and Culture on Stage
Written by Eugene Dillanado and directed by Eugene Parker, the production blends rich dialogue with live musical moments that echo Motown-era soul, church-infused harmonies, and the sound of a community trying to hold itself together. This is the kind of night out that leaves you talking long after you’ve left your seat.
Make It an Intentional Evening in Las Vegas
