Founder of Jiffy Lube Franchise
Lovell Rainge was a very hardworking and tough businessman who was well-respected by all his team members and business partners. He became a Jiffy Lube franchisee along with his brother Simon Rainge in 1984 when they opened the Jiffy Lube location on South Chicago Avenue in Chicago, Illinois. A couple years later, his brother Rudolph Rainge joined the team, and a second location was added on South Halsted Street in Chicago, Illinois.
Over the years many family members have worked in various capacities in the businesses. In 1995 Lovell became the sole franchisee of both service centers when both of his brothers retired. He was known for his love of conversation and for his ability to connect with anyone on a personal level. He was a larger-than-life role model for the many individuals he employed and mentored throughout his career in Jiffy Lube. The epitome of leadership and manhood, He held firm in his values and never accepted excuses but was always the shining heart of forgiveness.
In June 2017, Lovell retired from the day-to-day operations of his Jiffy Lube locations and passed management responsibilities on to his son-in-law, Anthony Mims. Lovell passed away in 2022 after a long and hard-fought battle with cancer. Presently, his widow, Irene, remains the sole owner and franchisee of both locations. Although he is departed, his legacy lives on and remains thriving through his commitment to customer service and professional that his businesses exemplify every day.
